Andrew lives and works in Stratford Upon Avon. His works focus on landscapes producing original work with oil paints. Over the years of his painting experience, Andrew likes to experiment with a range of techniques and processes, working with colour, texture and mark making to achieve his desired effect. Whilst reflecting on first hand experiences of the physical landscapes, Andrew also uses his intuition to guide the development of his work. Andrews paintings are personal responses to the outer world, inviting the viewer to travel and dream whilst exploring the physicality of the paint and surface.
Submerging himself in the outdoors allows Andrew to live the landscapes, view and feel each element his chosen subject has to offer. Having his subject readily available brings energy and flair to each of his brushstrokes. The wind blowing, grass swaying as he eagerly paints in his beloved surroundings. His compositions, somewhat complex provide the atmosphere his paintings provide.
Prior to returning to the UK to continue teaching and being an artist, Andrew lived in the United Arab Emirates for many years teaching and painting. Whilst there, Andrew was commissioned and worked on numerous projects including Dubai’s Multi Commodities Centre who comissioned Andrew to produce a painting using tea and Indian ink for the 5th Global Dubai Tea Forum at the newly opened Sofitel The Palm, Dubai in 2014. The completed painting measuring seven metres in length is hanging on permanent display in the companies headquarters. Andrew’s paintings can be found in various Dubai International Financial Centre offices including Goldman Sachs, Standard & Poor’s and Brunswick in Abu Dhabi.
His work is collected by private and corporate clients and can be found in collections around the world.
