We are thrilled with the new sculpture just installed in the widow of the iconic Time & Life building on 1 Bruton Street.
‘Miss You Repeat’ by Miss Bugs is a stunning masterpiece which has been welcomed with open arms and settled nicely in its new home for the next six months.
Preferring to keep a low profile, not much is known about Miss Bugs. The only information on their website is a quote by Pablo Picasso “If there is something to steal, I steal it!”
The quote from one of the most important artists of 20th century best sums up Miss Bugs’ motto, as the artist takes iconic imagery from pop culture and art history and reforms it using collage and other mixed media methods. Referencing many contemporary artists the work is recomposed with collage, found objectss and silk screens to make their own newly reconstructed iconic pieces.
The work questions the very nature of the art establishment. It makes us question the ownership of ideas, working methods, and the relationship and knock-on effect that artists have with one another…
